Junior Race Team Finishing Season Strong!

skull on laser

In October, our junior race team participated in the Pirates of the Corinthian Regatta at the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club. Emmett Tilley, Colby Cox, Ashlyn Josephson, and Evie Hyland from our Opti Fleet represented our team, enjoying beautiful weather and performing well on the water. The ILCA fleet was made up of Isla Mrstik, Shiloh Mabry, Sarah Hyland, Alex Van Zanten, Christian Lopez, and Eli Pfarrer, all competing well and gaining valuable experience with each race. Notably, Shiloh Mabry achieved an impressive 2nd place in the ILCA 4 fleet, with Isla Mrstik finishing closely behind in 3rd place. Dressing up in theme for the regatta was Andy Bahr and his granddaughter Ashlyn Josephson!

Looking ahead, the team has two more regattas that mark the end of our racing season. First up is the ILCA District 15 Championship at Rush Creek Yacht Club on November 9-10, where our Laser sailors will compete against some of the best in the district.

The finale of the Youth TSA season is the much-anticipated Jr. Ol Man of the Seas, combined with the USODA Mid-American Championships, taking place at FWBC on November 16-17. This regatta is a favorite among our sailors, and we encourage everyone to come out and support them! We invite you to join us in cheering on our talented sailors or to get involved by volunteering. If you’re interested in contributing your time, please reach out to Nettie Younger for more information.

Let’s finish the season strong and head into the off-season with continued training and enthusiasm! It has been a great season of growth and building this year and look forward to finishing the season strong and going into the off-season with some good winter training.

High School Sailing

This past weekend, the Nolan Viking Sailing Club participated in the 50th Ol' Man of the Seas Regatta at Fort Worth Boat Club. Our Nolan sailors placed 1st and 3rd. The team will be traveling to Austin in November to compete in the Texas State High School Championships followed by Jr. Ol' Man of the Seas back at FWBC on November 16-17.

HS Halloween Practice

To have some fun near the end of the fall season and of course in the spirit of Halloween. The high school sailors dressed up for practice this past Sunday. The favorite was Gentry Schneider who dressed up as "Coach Val"!!
